We Will Rock You (New Cast), Dominion Theatre

After 10 years and over 4,000 performances, We Will Rock You continues to rock London’s West End at the famous Dominion Theatre. With music and lyrics by Queen and a book and direction by Ben Elton, We Will Rock You is a jukebox musical about a young rebel named Galileo who tries to overtake a powerful corporation in a futuristic world.

The production originally opened on May 12, 2002, and features hit Queen songs including “We Are the Champions,” “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Somebody To Love” and “Under Pressure”.

With new cast members comes new enthusiasm and Rachel Wooding leads the way in bringing attitude, humour and fantastic vocal ability to the role of Scaramouche. Sassy Wooding, most recently seen in Jersey Boys and on tour in the title role of Evita, is returning to We Will Rock You after five years, having previously played the role of Meat in 2006-2007.

Having jumped ship from the equally incredible 80’s rock musical Rock of Ages at the Shaftsbury Theatre, Oliver Tompsett fast-forwards 300 years to play reluctant, stuttering hero G…G…G…Galileo, who is trying to make sense of the forbidden and long-forgotten music he hears in his dreams. Tompsett is ideal in the role - impressive vocals, sexy, charismatic and BOY…can he move his hips!

The supporting cast members (including all fifteen new ensemble members) are all - predictably - brilliant but special mention must go to Rachel John as Meat who belts out an unbelievably powerful rendition of No-One But You (Only the Good Die Young) that deservedly brings the house down.

Fans of cynicism, subtlety and staying in their seats ought to give it a miss however if you are fans of Queen, electric guitar solos and standing ovations this is DEFINITELY for you!

We Will Rock You also currently stars Kevin Kennedy, Brenda Edwards, Rachel John, Wayne Robinson and Alasdair Harvey.
